Today P&O hurtled to the top of the league by completely outplaying their opponents Irby, who this morning were sharing top spot, with P&O Khizer Qadeer hitting 104 and Jacques Davis 66. By the time that the two of them had finished with the Irby bowlers, the opposition had little fight left. 

Some shrewd field placing by the P&O captain Talbot along with all of the bowlers chipping in with wickets and some wonderful catches put P&O at the top of the table with another great rival Burscough to come to Burrows Lane next week.

P&O 2nd XI got back to winning ways on Saturday with a great all round performance vs Birkenhead St Mary’s.

An amazing bowling performance from all our bowlers saw P&O restrict BHSM to 132. The pick of the bowlers being P.Dagnall & N.Dagnall with 2 wickets each, and amazing run out from Suresh as well as an outstanding performance from stand in wicket keeper M.Dagnall.

Our runs chase got off to a great start with a 50 run partnership for N.Pearl & H.Kannan, after losing a couple of quick wickets. A.Critchley (33 not out) & M.Dagnall (21) bonded quickly & had a great chemistry with some quick running & the odd boundary taking P&O almost over the line. A.Farhad came in and with a quick 14 took Prescot over the line and earned a very well deserved 20 points. 

We travel to top of the league Irby on our next fixture looking to build on Saturday's performance .

Shout out to the First XI for a dominant victory over Irby cementing themselves at the top of the table, keep up the great work from all the lads in the 2nd XI.
